Bamboo socks that save endangered animals!  10% of the profits from the purchase of these 'Save the Elephant' socks will be donated the The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

I've been a fan of Bare Kind since coming across their socks last year, as they have a similar sustainability ethos to us.  Their socks are made from sustainably sourced OEKO-TEX bamboo and non toxic dyes by a third generation family-run factory in Istanbul. The factory is a fully SEDEX and BSCI audited factory, which means that there are only workers over the age of 18 working there and they are on fair wages and hours.

The socks are shipped over on a lorry where possible, rather than a plane, which emits far less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and as a business, they are currently working on a project to offset all of Bare Kind's past emissions, and become carbon neutral going forward.

Bamboo is becoming a popular fabric choice. It is faster growing and has larger yields than standard sources for fibres, not to mention the physical benefits you receive from the product  - incredibly soft, moisture-wicking and anti-bacterial. The second-hand option is usually the most sustainable option at hand, but with socks there is less of a market for this, so where possible, you should buy high-quality products you know are going to last.

All packaging is plastic-free so please reuse, recycle or compost where possible.
