One Tree Planted
Before Christmas we ran two campaigns where you guys helped us plant trees with One Tree Planted. For every order received during our Green Friday and 12 Days of Christmas campaign, we planted a tree in return. I’m pleased to say that we have now donated to plant 29 trees for our Green Friday campaign & 50 trees for our 12 Days of Christmas campaign.
These trees have been planted in an area where they are needed the most, in Uganda. This incredible project is a the result of collaboration between One Tree Planted and the Jane Goodall Institute in order to help recover vital forests for chimpanzee habitat and will plant and protect 3 million trees. The Albertine Rift is globally recognized as a biodiversity hotspot. The initiative will also restore degraded areas, promote agroforestry practices, and strengthen forest monitoring and law enforcement. It will also continue to support over 3,500 households in sustainable livelihoods. Thanks to everyone that made a purchase during these campaigns.
If you've never heard of One Tree Planted before then they are a non profit organisation who want to make it easier for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. By donating 1 dollar, you can pledge to plant 1 tree. The charity plant trees where they are needed the most. They work with reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help them get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.
