How many toothpaste tubes have you sent to landfill?
Did you know that toothpaste tubes are not recyclable in your normal recycling collection? That's because they are made up of a combination of materials making it hard for recycling plants to separate and process them. Yet every year we discard 1.5 million tubes worldwide.
So what are the alternatives?
Toothpaste doesn't have to come in a tube. On our website we have two different plastic-free packaging options, the Georganics toothpaste in a glass jar or the Ecoliving toothpaste tabs in a tin.
The Mineral Toothpaste by Georganics has been certified as organic by Cosmos and contains the key essential minerals our teeth need to thrive, such as Calcium, Potassium and Silica. As they are all 100% natural, you won’t find the toxic synthetic chemicals used in conventional oral care, in their products.
The plastic-free toothpaste tabs from Ecoliving are free from preservatives, germ-inhibiting substances, binders and contain neither aluminium nor nanoparticles, so they are kind to your body and to the environment when being washed down the sink! They are also vegan. Choose from either a months supply in a reusable metal tin or 125 tablets in a compostable bag.
The toothpaste tabs are always a concept that people find it difficult to get their head around but they are really effective and easy to use! Simply chew one of tablets until it turns creamy then brush as usual!
