5 Really Easy Eco Swaps You Can Make Today
It's easier than ever to make eco-friendly product swaps. In our online shop alone we have over 150 different products. As the popularity of sustainable products increases, prices for sustainable materials decreases driving down the prices of eco conscious products and making eco-friendly substitutes more affordable for everyone. I've popped below 5 examples that are not only affordable but easy eco swaps too. I always say that its easiest to start in one room so all the examples below are bathroom related.
1) Toothbrush
Did you know that 111 million plastic toothbrushes are thrown into landfill sites every year? Not only this but the plastic also releases chemicals into the air making them even worse for the environment. If there was any reason to change to an eco-friendly substitute that should do it.
These bamboo replacements last the same as a normal plastic toothbrush but the bamboo is 100% sustainable and can be thrown straight on your compost heap. Just snip the soft nylon bristles off first and they can also be recycled in your normal recycling bin.

2) Reusable make up remover pads
These are a great alternative to disposable face wipes, they can just be thrown in the washing machine and hey presto..... ready to use again. 3) Shampoo bar
520 million shampoo bottles are thrown away each year in the UK. Shampoo bars tend to last longer, use better quality ingredients and should contain zero plastic. 4) Soap bars
Did you know that you use 30% more water when washing with liquid soap than with a bar of soap? That’s wastage right there – it just goes straight down the plughole! A bar of soap creates more lather too so you don’t tend to keep adding water until you rinse off. Plus a bar of soap tends to last 6 times longer than a bottle of liquid soap. 5) Razors
Billions of plastic razors find their way to landfill every year and are terrible for our environment. Plastic razors are also an awful shave, with most having multiple blades which actually cause more skin irritation and can cut the hairs below the skin so in-growing hairs are much more common
